‘Tis the season to go shopping in Baltimore this Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. Here at the Promenade, we’re encouraging residents to shop small and support local businesses.

Shopping Small Is Kind Of A BIG Deal
In 2010, American Express started the Small Business Saturday initiative to combat the effects of the 2008 financial crisis and recession. Just one year later, the Senate approved the commemoration of Small Business Saturday. Ever since, Small Business Saturday has been the day after Black Friday.

Celebrate Small Business Saturday by visiting a local coffee shop or restaurant and be sure to check out the following events. (They’re anything but small!)

Treat Yourself, or Get a Gift
Local vendors and shops will participate in this year’s Harbor East Holiday Haul, located just steps away from your home here at The Promenade. Finish your holiday shopping with live music, giveaways, and bites from James Joyce Irish Pub from 11:00-4:00 p.m.

Fell’s Point is celebrating Black Friday at Max’s Taphouse. Sample Baltimore’s largest beer and draft selection in pours. They’re open from 11:30-10:30 p.m.

Inner Harbor’s Christmas Village will be open on Friday from 11:00-8:00 p.m. More than 55 vendors will be there, and patrons will be able to try some of the best European dishes.

Shopping Small is Always a Good Idea
Help support our local Baltimore community with these Shop Small events:

Hampden
The Shop Small Art Crawl will occur in the Mill Centre Artist Studios. From 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The crawl is an opportunity to shop, collect items, and craft.

From 11:00-4:00 p.m., The Avenue in Hampden is holding Small Business Saturday as an opportunity to holiday shop from local vendors.

Waverly
Baltimore’s 32nd Street Farmers Market is celebrating an Opening Day event on Small Business Saturday from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Stop by to shop local.

Remington
R. House is hosting a Small Biz Saturday Market with fine arts, jewelry, candles, and decor from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Highlandtown
Interested in art? From 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., patrons can shop small and sip on refreshments whilst strolling through the Night Owl Gallery

High Grounds Coffee Roasters is open on Small Business Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Join them for a free cup of coffee and a fun tour around Main Street.

Brewer’s Hill
A Small Business Saturday Pop-Up will be open from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. They’re offering food, beverages, jewelry, arts, decor, stationary, and beauty and wellness products.

Baltimore County
The Avenue in White Marsh is celebrating Small Business Saturday from noon until 5:00 p.m. with over 60 vendors. Stop by to shop, eat, and even  go ice skating.

We’re Thankful for Residents Like You
From The Promenade family to yours, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving. Don’t forget to shop small and support local businesses this Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and beyond!
