Memorial Day falls on Monday, May 31 this year and is meant to honor those who have died serving in the United States military. It’s an important day of remembrance and has been an annual tradition since shortly after the Civil War.

Shell We Get Physical?
Looking to get out and bust a move this three-day weekend?
Sun’s out, bun’s out. From May 19th until May 30th, Merritt Clubs is hosting 55-minute cycling classes. Wednesday and Thursday courses occur between 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday courses start at 10:00 a.m. and end at 11:00 a.m. Tickets are available for $10/session. Besides a great workout, the classes offer amazing harbor views at the Sandlot.
Memorial Day Holiday Outdoor Latin Dance Party
Tropic like it’s hot. On Monday, May 31st, SalsaNow is hosting a dance party from 6:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. This event will be at the Sandlot, with their nice, new outdoor setting. Parking is free, after 8:00 p.m.
Free salsa and bachata lessons begin at 6:00 p.m. with Niss Albaig. Starting at 7:00 p.m., there will be live performances from Orquesta Nfuzion and DJ SalsoMano G. Stop by to enjoy the warm weather, drinks, and dancing.

Sip & Screen Paint at the B&O Tickets
B&O is offering a “Sip and Screen Painting” session on May 29th and June 3rd, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 for B&O members and $55 for non-members. A free glass of wine, or beer, is included in the ticket price.
During the event, attendees will learn traditional, Baltimorean screen-painting. An artist from the Painted Screen Society will, also, guide you in screen-painting exercises. Mini screens will be provided for you.
Oasis Amplified is hosting a concert by Hepcat Hoodie on Friday, May 28th, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. So, come enjoy live music on the docks of the Harbor East Marina. The event will, also, be free to livestream on Youtube and Facebook.
Papi’s Tacos in Hampden is hosting a socially-distanced stand-up comedy show at 8:00 p.m. (seating begins at 7:00 p.m.), on Friday, May 28th. Acts will be from Donnie Sengstack, Violet Gray, Michael Furr, Megan Graves, and more. Ticket prices range from $12-50. Be prepared to laugh!
Memorial Day is Looking Up
Celebrate Memorial Day with the Marine State Airport during their Airshow.
On Monday, May 31st, until June 2nd, the Marine State Airport is hosting their annual Memorial Day airshow. Stop by the Long Beach Marina to view various aircrafts, such as B-29s and B-51s.
